When the Nile flooded and destroyed the houses, the people headed north from the Nile, where this neighborhood was formed and grew after the Nile flood. Among the most prominent and first people who lived in the neighborhood were the Al-Faki Badr family, the Al-Sunni family, Wad Al-Razm family, the Abu Toub family, the Abdul-Majid family, Wad Koko family, the Al-Houlab family, the Al-Khadourab family, the Al-Salatin family, the Al-Baashoum family, the Al-Qasaisab family, the Salem family, the Al-Hadahid family, the Umm Barira family, and others.

هو من اواخر احياء الكمير من الجهة الشرقية يمتد حتي منطقة الكرو الزراعيه و توجد به مدرسة الكمير الثانوية بنين وبئر الزبير محمد صالح . نشاء الحي وتكون بعد فيضان 46 ومن اوائل الابار التي حفرة فيه بئر ود سعيد و وبئر الوكيل و بئر الطيب ود حمدنا الله .

يقع الحي تحت جبل الكدركول حيث تعلوه قمم الجبل ، وهو من الاحياء الحديثه في الكمير حيث انه نشاء وتكون في فترة السبعينات من القرن الماضى . وتعود اصل تسمية البان جديد نسبة لظهور الحي الحديث اي انه حي جديد (ابان) اي قد ظهر ويعرف ايضاً بحي التامراب ، ومن اوائل الاهالي الذين سكنوا فيه اولاد امام و اولاد دفع الله و اولاد المريق و اولاد جعفر و اولاد عنقال و الجميلاب وغيرهم .

هو من اعرق احياء الكمير يبدأ منه جبل الكدركول من ناحية الشرق ، وتعود اصل التسميه لهذا الحي نسبة لتواجد شجر السلم بكميات كبيرة فيه وبذلك اطلق عليه السلمه ، ومن اوائل الابار التي حفرة في هذا الحي بئر اولاد ود سعيد . ومن اوائل الاهالي الذين سكنوا الحي السلاطين و اولاد الصميد و القصيصاب و اولاد الدقيل و اولاد ود الخوسي و اولاد البحر و العبد ود سعيد و ود المجذوب وغيرهم .

وهي اخر احياء الكمير من الجهه الشرقية بين حدود الجوير و القبة ، وترجع تسمية حي العويداب الي جدهم عويداب واول من سكن هذا الحي اولاد الاحمر و وقيع الله عويداب و ود النمير و الطيب محمد أحمد و سلمان حسن ابراهيم و حامد الحاج الفادني و اولاد الشيخ .
